There’s no doubt that the Mustang is currently the hottest muscle car on the block, but keeping it that way is going to be a challenge for Ford! In order to lead the pack over the next decade, many people believe that a design change could be in order as early as 2014. This has sparked quite a few renderings and concepts, but I had to pull one of my favorites to show you guys:
We recently asked you guys on our Facebook page what the best Mustang production paint color was and we got an INCREDIBLE response…
So Incredible that we have decided to set up a poll where you can really duke it out for best paint color! So go on and tell us, what is the best? Sonic Blue? Grabber Orange? Mystichrome? Torch Red? Shall I go on?
How badass is THIS!? The 2011 5.0L Mustang GT that Vortech Superchargers brought out to SVTPerformance.com’s Dyno Day completely wowed the crowd on its insane dyno run at GTR Performance this past weekend. The 5.0L GT was rockin’ the new blower plus exhaust to equal out to an amazing 577 rear wheel horsepower at only 6 PSI on GTR’s Dynojet. Killin’ it! Check out the video and see for yourself.
You, also, can have 600+ horses under your foot with one of these bad boys installed on your new 2011 Mustang GT. Don’t hesitate to contact AmericanMuscle to get yourself all setup with a new Vortech HO system that is known for the highest efficiency, reliability and performance out there in the market. You know you can’t resist the urge to make your friends jealous. You already did it with your new 5.0L. Now you can do it with your new SUPERCHARGED 5.0L! Go ahead, rub it in.
We all know that the new 2012 BOSS 302 is a beast! Well, I do, anyway. I’m hoping you agree, especially after watching the video of the quarter mile run on the Dynojet at the Cobo Hall Auto Show held in Detroit. Although it is virtually stimulated, it still lit it up with a VERY nice 12.4 second run. Thanks to one of our boys over at Dynojet, we got this sneak peek photo of the sleeping beauty before they fired her on up!
Many of you have seen the original SCT Touch Screen Xtreme (TSX) that allows you to datalog wirelessly through your Mustang’s OBD-II data-port. Well, SCT is taking that technology one step further. Check out what they’re doing with an iPad! You’ll be able to connect and tune your vehicle wirelessly with any iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch!
The manual vs. automatic rivalry rages on and the comparison between the two has never been hotter! Credit Ford for fanning the flames with the awesome 5R55S (2005-2010 Mustang GT) and 6R80 (2011 5.0L Mustang) automatic transmissions as they have gone toe-to-toe on the drag strip with stick-shift equipped Mustangs.
I admit it, my 2007 Mustang has an automatic transmission and I like it. There, I’ve said it and I am not ashamed one bit! In fact, I am not alone in being impressed with the 5R55S as MM&FF Editor and die-hard stick-shift racer Evan Smith has stated on many equations he likes racing his wife’s auto-equipped ’07 Stang. Another stick-shift-or-die guy is noted NMRA racer and shop owner Justin Burcham and he digs the latest auto cars too. In fact, I’ve even quoted Justin in a magazine article as saying that if he had to own an auto-equipped Mustang it would be one with a 5R55S slush-box.
Ford is going to be adding an engine shut-off feature to every single future vehicle produced, including the Mustang. What does this mean for performance enthusiasts? There’s still not enough details, but we do know that when your Mustang comes to a stop, the engine’s going off! The article below says this is an effort to promote fuel economy. When you apply pressure to the gas pedal, the engine will restart and all is well.
