The guys at Shelby seem to have the go-big-or-go-home mentality with their latest creations such as the new 662 hp ‘13 Shelby GT500 powered by a Ward’s 2013 Top 10 Engine and the track-ready Shelby 1000. His company, Shelby American, has promised to keep truckin’ along after Carroll Shelby’s passing this past May and with the Detroit Auto Show looming near, the guys at Shelby American supposedly have something big up their sleeves.
We all know the new 5.8L Supercharged DOHC v8 in the 2013 Shelby GT500 is nothing to mess with. After all, what do you think would happen if you had to race the 662 horsepower / 631 lb-ft torque beast? I’d suspect most of us would not be calling for a rematch. Following in the footsteps of the traditional Boss 302, the 302S takes the standard Boss platform to a whole new level. When it comes to price and performance, this track-only build by Ford Racing is a balance between the Boss 302 Laguna Seca and the all-out Boss 302R race car. With tons of suspension upgrades separating it from the Laguna Seca, this 302 is bound to dominate racetracks during the 2013 race season.

The cover over the front end is not very Mustang-like at all, well, not yet anyway. The front end seems to have super slim rectangular headlights as well as one hell of a grille. That’s what the cover is showing us, anyway.
