The guys at Shelby seem to have the go-big-or-go-home mentality with their latest creations such as the new 662 hp ‘13 Shelby GT500 powered by a Ward’s 2013 Top 10 Engine and the track-ready Shelby 1000. His company, Shelby American, has promised to keep truckin’ along after Carroll Shelby’s passing this past May and with the Detroit Auto Show looming near, the guys at Shelby American supposedly have something big up their sleeves.
We all know the new 5.8L Supercharged DOHC v8 in the 2013 Shelby GT500 is nothing to mess with. After all, what do you think would happen if you had to race the 662 horsepower / 631 lb-ft torque beast? I’d suspect most of us would not be calling for a rematch. Well, it looks like Ward’s Auto is keen to the new power plant’s amazing power, promoting it to their list of the “Best Engines of 2013” as the lone v8 to make the list.
Following in the footsteps of the traditional Boss 302, the 302S takes the standard Boss platform to a whole new level. When it comes to price and performance, this track-only build by Ford Racing is a balance between the Boss 302 Laguna Seca and the all-out Boss 302R race car. With tons of suspension upgrades separating it from the Laguna Seca, this 302 is bound to dominate racetracks during the 2013 race season.
Could this be the next-gen ’15 Mustang front end?
What is this we spy? That would be a Ford Mustang obviously, but that front end seems to be hiding something completely different! The cover over the front end is not very Mustang-like at all, well, not yet anyway. The front end seems to have super slim rectangular headlights as well as one hell of a grille. That’s what the cover is showing us, anyway.
Some people may have expected this, but a certain Mustang model won’t be returning to the order list for the 2014 model year. This Mustang was brought back to life in 2012 to pay tribute to the ultra popular classic born in 1969, the original Boss 302. Production ended after the 1970 model year, giving it only a two year run. That’s right, there’s not going to be a 2014 Boss 302! Just like the classic version, the plan was to limit the modern Boss 302 to only two years as well. Sad news for the hordes of people out there hoping for their shot at owning a brand new 2014 Boss 302.
The world’s premier auto trade show, SEMA, offered some of the hottest rides on the planet and included among them was Nikki Frost’s “Gotta Have It Green” 2013 Mustang GT. Featured in Vortech’s booth, Nikki and her beastly Mustang not only look good, but the Green Machine is packing a manual transmission and over 600 horses under the hood. Yeah, this is one Mustang not to be taken lightly. This pony was equipped with a Vortech V-3 Si Supercharger and a plethora of other upgrades helping it earn a great deal of attention throughout the show.
Employees at American Muscle pitched in and lent a helping hand in the Hurricane Sandy relief effort. After collecting donations, supplies were shipped out to the needy still struggling to recovery from the super-storm. The NYPD pitched a helping hand as well, air-lifting supplies to the hard-hit areas like Breezy Point, NY who suffered from not only flooding during Sandy, but a devastating fire as well.
