The 2017 Ford SVT Raptor is set to be released soon and we finally have an idea of how much one will cost. The next-gen F-150 Raptor will come in under $60K, while holding the title of the most off-road capable production truck you can buy.
2017 SVT Raptor Cost
If you are looking to find yourself behind the wheel of a 3.5L TT V6, 10-speed ’17 Raptor, than you will need to shell out $49,520 for the SuperCab version of the next SVT Truck. If you wanted to grab the SuperCrew version of the ’17 Raptor, then that will run $52,505.
The ’17 SuperCab comes in only $430 more than the cost of the four-door SuperCrew ’14 Raptor did. To draw direct comparisons, the new SuperCab is $3,300 more than the 2014 model and the SuperCrew is $3,415 more in 2017. All in all, that is a modest increase for all the truck you get.
What You Get For The Money
While the $52K price tag on the 2017 Raptor may scare some enthusiasts off, it is important to remember what exactly you’re getting for that amount. The Fox shocks and struts– the highlight of the F-150 Raptor’s Suspension, are worth about 1/5th of the cost of the truck (little over $10,000).
Suspension goodies aside, also put into perspective that the new Raptor is powered by a 3.5L Twin Turbo EcoBoost engine that is peak engineering, a setup and block that is shared with Ford’s new halo car: the Ford GT. The Raptor and the Ford GT share a very similar engine setup and both use the same engine block.
So in other words, for $52,505 (before options) you can buy a pickup that share the heart of a cutting-edge super car and a suspension system that can put trophy trucks to shame.
