Laying Low & Laying Rubber: AM Customer Ricky’s 2014 GT

One of the greatest selling points for the Mustang has always been the level of customization that is possible from the factory and the aftermarket. AmericanMuscle customer Ricky exemplifies this point by meshing factory and aftermarket customization with his 2014 GT.

Having owned his ’14 for less than one year, Ricky has wasted no time in personalizing his Mustang. From the factory, Ricky opted for the much sought after Track Pack option, which features 3.73 gears, Recaro Seats, and mix of other upgrades straight from Ford. While Ricky’s coyote had a good bit of power and style in stock form courtesy of the Track Pack, Ricky had much bigger plans in store for his Mustang.

Ricky immediately took to modifying his coyote with a mix of style and performance parts. On the outside, his S197 is an aggressive and sleek head turner; under the hood, it is a caged beast waiting to be unleashed.

Adding Some Style

Even while parked, Ricky’s Mustang gives off an intimidating presence. MMD Headlight Splitters paired with an aftermarket hood and Matte Black Super Snake Stripe kit let everyone know that his Mustang is all business, even at just a glance. A GT500 style rear spoiler, GT500 style rear diffuser, and MMD rear window louvers work together to make the back of his Mustang look just as menacing as the front.

Really tying the look of Ricky’s Mustang together is an Air Lift Suspension Digital Kit. With the press of a button, Ricky’s coyote goes from laying low at a show to stock ride height for cruising. The Air Lift Performance Kit works perfectly with the rest of the exterior mods to make this Mustang look truly sinister.

Adding Some Power

This ‘stang offers more than just head turning good looks. An Airaid Cold Air Intake breathes cold air into a Boss 302 Intake Manifold, complete with a Boss 302 Strut Bar. Complementing the aggressive looks of his Mustang is an aggressive sound made possible through GT500 mufflers that are adorned with 3” resonator delete pipes. For good measure, a Kooks High Flow X-Pipe rounds out the throaty sound of Ricky’s coyote. A Bama Performance V2 Tune ties all of his mods together, making his performance just as aggressive as the style and sound of his 5.0L.

This is not the first Mustang Ricky has owned, but it seems to be the one he has enjoyed the most. Between taking it to shows and having people crowd around it, to taking it cruising on a nice night, Ricky’s Mustang is thoroughly enjoyed year round.

Although he already features a nice mix of performance and styling parts, Ricky has future plans to modify his coyote coupe more. A supercharger install is the next, and as of now, the only foreseeable mod; however, given Ricky’s passion for Mustangs and modding, we have a feeling that will happen sooner rather than later.
