Video: Roush 2015 RS3 Mustang Being Put To The Test

The brand new 2015 Roush RS3 Mustang on the track

The new 2015 Roush RS3 Mustang is one of the most anticipated Mustangs to come out this next year and this video from Roush is exactly why everyone is so excited. With tire smoke pouring from the rear while it goes sideways around a turn, the new 2015 Roush RS3 Mustang packs one helluva punch straight from Roush!

Back in the Fall, Roush previewed their version of the 2015 Mustang, which had a somewhat polarizing effect on the Mustang community. Based on the new S550 Mustang platform, the supped-up Roush Mustang brings not only the signature styling from the brand but also the signature power that has earned Roush Performance the respect it deserves.

The Roush Stage 3 (RS3) package on the 2015 Mustang sports the classic Roush designed styling, but more importantly it features a Roush blower and tuning bumping its power output to the high 600 to low 700 HP range. Considering that Ford Racing is selling a Roush/Ford Racing Supercharger with power output at 600 HP, I think we can easily expect to see the RS3 hitting 700HP.

Roush has been hard at work building the new 2015 Roush Mustang which is offered in various trim and power levels. There has been no official word as of yet on a release date or what the RS3 will be priced at; however, the RS2 version of the 2015 Mustang is priced at $8,995 above the cost of a 2015, which can serve as a point of reference as to what a RS3 might cost.

What are your thoughts on the RS3 Mustang? Does it carry on the Roush legacy or leave it in the past?

  1. Oh joy… more non-functional ornamental aero stick on side scoops and hood scoop. Seriously… Does Roush really think this is a push in the right direction? Take the time and money to stick on non-functional ornamental retro junk and give it back as a savings or put it into some real power add-ons or maybe better suspension enhancements. Or just learn to let the past stay in the past and move forward.

    1. I forgot that giving people options was a bad thing? They are OPTIONAL scoops…DON’T option them if that is what keeps your from buying one…geesh.

A 2.3L TVS Supercharger pushing output to 627hp isn’t real power? Optional 1-way and 3-way adjustable coil-overs don’t add anything type of handling and performance upgrades?

      RRRRrrrrrright…

      1. Power options wasn’t in question. The clinging to old fashioned non-functional ornamental fixtures was. I think in our times that these things are (1) Not fooling anyone (2) Not worth the money spent to stick these on (3) Money better spent on significant performance upgrades. What Roush needs to do is move on. Seriously just let it GO. The objective to a modern push is actually embrace it. You want retro…Buy an s197.

        Duhhhhh

  2. No performance numbers mentioned. How about telling us the 0 to 60 , 1/4mi , top speed and skid pad numbers. The last stage 3 mustang had weak improvements over the stock gt.
