Bama Performance Breaks Into The 12’s With Their 2015 EcoBoost Mustang!


Bama Performance has been working around the clock on the 2015 Mustang and most recently the 2015 EcoBoost which they took to the track. Bama Performance no sooner had their hands on a 2015 EcoBoost Mustang before they began tuning it which netted some impressive numbers on the dyno. Since then, Bama has been doing a lot of work with their 2015 Mustang GT at the track and now they are putting in some track time with the EcoBeast!

The EcoBoost’s first few runs were completely stock with only a set of tires, and it ran a best of 13.64 @ 98 MPH. The Bama Performance team then added an Airaid Cold Air Intake and a Bama Performance track tune which sent the EcoBoost down the strip at12.98 @ 103 MPH.

The Bama Team is just getting started with the 2015 EcoBoost Mustang and has a lot more planned for it. Their is a lot of potential in the S550 EcoBoost platform and the Bama is looking to fully explore every opportunity that the EcoBoost presents.

  1. Okay, this one is for the AM guys. What is the reason for the ecoboost engine not making power above 5k rpm even after tuning? Is it the cam profile (which would be odd with VVT). Turbo size (more probable in my mind)? I don’t get it. GM’s high output turbo four banger pulls all the way to its redline and makes a ton of TQ down low while only displacing 2.0 liters. I was hoping you guys would be able to make it pull to at least 6k rpm with tuning. Basically, I’m curious if you guys have figured this out yet and come up with a solution. Thanks!
