While the video released by RTR earlier this week gave us a fun glimpse at a couple RTRs drifting (the Spec 5 being one them), here’s an up close and personal look at the 2015 Mustang RTR Spec 5 Concept. This will be Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s new drift car, replacing his current 2014 Mustang for the upcoming season.Make no mistake, this beast is packing a lot more than just aesthetics; you’re looking at a supercharged Mustang fully customized inside and out by RTR. The Spec 5 takes “drift inspired” to an entirely new level with it’s LED grille inserts, haggard but highly refined riveting throughout the exterior, signature Vaughn Gittin Jr. wheels and hood pins to top off the Spec 5’s naturally aggressive nature. A wide-body kit with bulging front and rear fenders takes the already planted 2015 GT and gives it even more curvature and width, a style much like Vaughn’s RTR-X.
Sadly, this monster won’t be available to the public. However, you can pick yourself up a supercharged RTR Spec 2 at certified dealers come January. If that’s more performance than you bargained for, the RTR Spec 1 is a nice upgrade over a factory GT’s “lack of aggressiveness” as some have come to call it. Both the Spec I & Spec II RTRs look fantastic, and both carry with them Vaughn Gittin’s unique vision for the Mustang–something enthusiasts have developed a great affinity for in recent years.
