Hot Lap: Car Show Highlights, Customer Rides, New Parts and Giveaways

This month’s Hot Lap goes behind the scenes at #am2014, shows you some awesome customer rides, Justin’s project build, and more! Hot Lap is AmericanMuscle’s monthly video capturing the hottest news in the Mustang World, spanning many Mustang generations and communities. We cover everything from the sickest Mustangs around, new parts that we carry, parts we are giving away, news from Ford, and everything in between.

2014 AmericanMuscle Car Show

There was a lot to go over in the September Hot Lap video given the action packed month of August we had. A majority of that action took place at the 2014 AmericanMuscle Car Show, which was the main talking point of the Mustang world in August. Bringing in over 2,600 Mustangs and 10,000 spectators while raising over $35,000 for the Special Olympics, #am2014 was a massive success and our largest car show to date. Mustangs from all over the United States converged on Maple Grove Raceway to take part in the largest Mustang Show in the country.

Brett ‘Big Schwag’ Wagner

Host of the hit TV show Pass Time Brett ‘Big Schwag’ Wagner was at the AmericanMuscle car show as a featured host. The Big Schwag brought his trademark personality to the show and interviewed some of the different attendees about their Mustangs. The Big Schwag checked out a 2012 Shelby 1000, that came from the Shelby American Facility in Vegas with a fully built motor and a huge Kenne Bell Blower putting down 1000 HP on pump gas at the rear wheels. Another Mustang the Big Schwag checked out was a 2007 Roush 427R featuring the Rosuh Supercharger kit; unfortunately, that owner was looking to sell his 07 to buy a house.

Vaughn Gittin Jr and 2015 Mustang RTR Reveal

Vaughn Gittin Jr. was one of the special guests we had at the show. Vaughn came with the RTR team showing off some amazing Mustangs while signing autographs and meeting with fans. Vaughn had some big news for the #am2014 show with the reveal of his 2015 Mustang RTR.  Vaughn Gittin Jr. was excited to show off his RTR designed S550 Mustang to the crowd at the AmericanMuscle Car Show and they were excited to see it!

Chip Foose and Project MMD

Hot Rod Legend Chip Foose was another one of our special guests at the show. Chip Foose met with fans and signed autographs all day, even after the show ended. Chip Foose also helped in awarding Project MMD to the lucky winner, Zachary Villareal. Chip also made mention of his future involvement with AmericanMuscle and MMD to create Foose products for Mustangs. Be sure to check back to AmericanMuscle to stay up to date with the latest news on these hot parts!

2015 Mustang Renderings and News

Ford stopped by the AmericanMuscle Car Show with a 2015 Mustang GT that had the optional Performance Package. It was awesome to see the new 2015 Mustang 5.0 in person, all dressed up with the Performance Pack wheels and huge Brembo brakes. If that was not enough, we even got to hear it make some noise through Ford Racing by Borla Touring Catback exhaust. With that exhaust system is sounded like one mean 5.0 and clearly differentiated itself.

AmericanMuscle customer Matt Hillburn  shared some gorgeous 2015 Mustang renderings with us. Matt did an amazing job of capturing the spirit of the Mustang that resides at the core of the 2015 Mustang in his renderings. Take a look through the gallery below and be sure to comment and tell us which one is your favorite!

New Parts

As always, AmericanMuscle is dedicated to bringing our customers the best-selection of top-quality parts. This month we highlighted two amazing new products that will be a must-have items this coming year for Mustang owners. One of which is Raxiom’s plug-n-play Tail light Sequencer. The tri-bar tail lights are iconic to the Mustang, with the sequential lighting being one of the coolest features on the 11+ Mustangs. Add the styling of sequential lighting to your hazard and brake lights as well as when you hit the lock/unlock button on your key fob. The Raxiom Tail Light Sequencer is a great way to personalize your Mustang.

SR Performance has sparked interest in their new product, a coil and plug pack. Available for 1999 – 2010 GT’s and 2007 – 2012 Shelby GT500’s, the SR Performance Coil and Plug Kit produces a 15 -20% hotter spark than stock coils, which provides smoother idling, faster starts, better fuel economy, and even increases HP and TQ. These coils can also help to remedy certain problems you may be having with misfire issues. SR Performance makes incredible products for Mustangs which deliver amazing performance, and their coil and plug pack is no different.

Justin’s 2014 Mustang GT Project Car

AM’s video host Justin Dugan has completed Stage 3 of his 2014 Mustang GT project build. By taking the Shelby GT500 and using that as his inspiration, Justin has been carefully choosing parts to really make his Mustang unique. In Stage 3 of his build, Justin added a few tasteful styling mods to the exterior of his Mustang along with some functional interior modifications. Check out our blog on Stage 3 of Justin’s Mustang.
