VIDEO: Shelby Unveils Insane 1000HP "GT1000" Mustang

Check this thing out… I’m about to sell everything I own, buy one and live in it! This beastly new GT1000 is Shelby’s latest release for the 2012 Mustang GT500 platform. You can pick one of these up in either a “Street” trim with a 1000HP Kenne Bell Supercharger or the “Track” version with 1100HP Whipple Supercharger. Either way, you’re gonna get yourself into some trouble! Look how easy this thing breaks the tires loose…

Shelby started development right after last November’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The GT500 production team was pumped to let Carroll Shelby himself check out the latest 2012 GT500. After taking it for a spin, he stepped out and asked when the even more powerful model was coming out! Next thing you know, we’re talking about a $150,000 (Street) or $200,000 (Track) package! That’s on top of the price of a new GT500! $%^!

It’s got a 9″ rear, fully built engine and cylinder heads, completely new cooling system, and tons of boost! The only thing I can’t decide is whether I’d take the Street or the Track version? Comment below and tell us what you’d go for…

I wouldn’t take either. I will drive my 2012 black GT out to Vegas and have the boys at Shelby see how much they can crank out of my 5.0. I would like to see the GT500 have a built up 6.2L truck V8 with dohc.
