VIDEO: Our Brand New 2013 Mustangs Drag Race!

Say hello to the newest member of the AmericanMuscle fleet… our 2013 Mustang GT 5.0L in Gotta Have It Green! We decided to waste no time testing this beast out and took it to Cecil County Dragway this past weekend to test it out against our 2013 V6 Convertible to see what each could do. We knew the GT would have the obvious advantage, but we thought it would still be cool to line em’ up!

In stock form, our 2013 Mustang GT 5.0L with manual trans went 12.74 with 87 octane in the tank! Not to shabby for a completely stock Ford Mustang GT from the factory with less than 200 miles on the odometer! Our V6 wasn’t bad either with a high-14 second pass out of an automatic convertible with a much higher curb weight and 87 octane, as well. I’m confident with a few bolt-on mods, both of these Mustangs could be ripping down the track about 1-second faster with a Cold Air Intake, Tuner, premium fuel and tires!

    It’s a bit “in your face” so lotsa folks should love it — but it looks like a late-’60s Mopar color to me. Give me something a little more stealthy.

    For me it’s “I don’t have to have it Green” but considering all the putrid green car colors out there now on imports and the Camaro I can see it has its place. I would have preferred the 1970 Grabber Green color but then as the owner of a Grabber Blue Boss 302, Grabber Orange Mustangs, Shelby GT500 and a Ranger truck I’m partial to the classic Ford colors.

    Not my style, but I think back to the 60′s wild colors, and those are the rarer, more desirable cars fetching higher prices at auction now.

    I love the GHIG! The more bright, crazy colors the better IMO. A true 60′s era muscle car throwback. I am surprised the the V6 only ran a 14.9. I know its a convertible, and heavier, but I would have guessed low14s with 300 hp.

     10-4   Classic Grabber Green is what they should have done.  I think they chose this color because it’s a Focus color and it saved a few bucks.   Should be Grabber Green IMO, and that would have been the color to have.

    I like it, I ordered a 2013 Shelby but can’t get that green. Had to settle for graber blue. To bad they don’t offer more colors.

    Not 100% sure yet, but I think so. It’s nice to see FORD is expanding their colour selections/choices. It seems FORD is still a bit too conservative in their colours compared to their competiton. Their imports (Focus, Fiesta), sorry “world cars”, seem to be the only ones that get the, brighter colour choices/selections….. unfortunate too.
