The Parts

At the leading edge of Mustang style, the parts list for the October 26 launch reads like a greatest hits playlist. Many of AmericanMuscle’s top sellers will be cleaned, prepped and painted in all 19 Ford factory colors.

The Booth

The facility at AmericanMuscle is nothing less than state of the art. It was designed and built by Global Finishing Solutions, the exclusive paint booth supplier to all OEM-endorsed paint shops. The booth at AmericanMuscle is a fully-loaded GFS system that employs numerous innovative technologies to produce a highly efficient, clean room environment and a minimal carbon footprint. The foundation for this eco-friendly program is the next-generation water-base paint that exceeds the quality and durability of traditional toxic solvent-base paints.

Using a semi-downdraft system, the paint booth achieves optimal painting conditions by shooting air down from the ceiling to evenly coat the painting surface. The air then circulates up and out the back of the booth where is it removed by the comprehensive filter system. This method, combined with air-powered Sata paint guns, provides an optimal formula for finished product that surpasses even OEM factory standards, not to mention a local paint shop.

The AmericanMuscle 14-Step Painting Process

Every painted part from AmericanMuscle undergoes a meticulous 14-step process in order to produce only the highest quality results.

All Current Pre-Painted Mustang Parts

Inspection – Every part is carefully inspected by the AmericanMuscle paint team to determine if it is a viable candidate for the AM paint program.

Sanding – Before the painting even begins, parts are sanded by hand to remove any visible imperfections.

Primer – As the first coat to be applied, primer provides a solid base for the paint and fills any pinholes or other microscopic inconsistencies in the surface.

Sand 2 – Primered parts are sanded a second, time providing a perfectly smooth surface for painting.

Cure – The curing process ensures the primer is dried and set before further coats are applied. To cure the parts, the booth is heated to 185º for 5 minutes, then 170º for 15 minutes, and finally cooled for 3 minutes before the sealed environment is opened for inspection.
All Current Pre-Painted Mustang Parts

Sealer – Before the paint can be applied, all parts are treated with a sealer that facilitates adhesion and long-term durability.

Base Coat 1 – This is the first application of toned paint. Here the color is thin and weak by comparison to the finished product.

Base Coat 2 – The second round of paint builds on the first, effectively bolstering color depth and enhancing a smooth, shiny finish.

All Current Pre-Painted Mustang Parts

Base Coat 3 – A third coat delivers maximum depth in color and durability for long-term use on your Mustang in all possible environments.

Clear Coat – Clear coat is applied to bring out that glossy quality that truly makes a Mustang shine. Clear coat is the most durable layer, providing a hard shell of protection around your Mustang’s exterior.

All Current Pre-Painted Mustang Parts

Clear Coat 2 – To further enhance a strong, glossy exterior, a second clear coat is applied to all parts.

Cure 2 – Once the multiple layers of primer, sealer, base coat and finally clear coat have been applied, trim parts undergo a second curing process in order to achieve a perfect finish.

Cool – After the parts are cured and then cooled inside the paint booth they are removed to the cooling room where they rest undisturbed for an additional 8 to 12 hours.

Wet Sand – The AmericanMuscle master painter carefully examines every part in a final inspection to determine if parts require additional wet sanding to remove any minor imperfections before final packaging.

I’ve always wanted to see something like this happen. One of the main reasons that I haven’t bought a new hood or wing was the trouble of finding someone reputable to paint them. Looks like I’ll be getting a new hood soon :)

  • Sayad

Will the New Edge GTs be getting some pre-painted lovin’ too?

  • dave

i own a 2001 ,will there be painted parts for older body style mustangs?

  • Jordan

I’m with Sayad and Dave, I’d like to see painted parts for the new edges

  • Kyle

Wow. So much hype over so little. Only 6 parts, and I can’t use any of them because I have an ‘03.

  • john

only for 05+ models? thats weak! really disappointed american muscle

  • Eric

GOD guys give them a break they will be working on 99-04 parts soon be grateful they are even doing this you would have to spend way more at a body shop AM is the “Wal-Mart” of the mustang world…..they have great prices and keep growing……that TAKES TIME! I own a 2000 GT and can wait to see what they have to offer thanks AM…

  • Andrew

hey are u guys gonna do anything about about 99-04 cause i got an 02. but thx alot keep up the great work!!

  • Daniel

Just wondering how will it be until some 03 Mustang parts come out?

  • Phil Holland

I am just pissed where is the love for the 99-04 mustang parts?

  • Phil Holland

99-04 Mustang Parts? I wonder how many of these cars are on the road vs. 05-09 stangs. What a fail effort American Muscle! I had my credit card out and was ready to spend some cash this morning. I am just plain pissed at this point.

  • Phil Holland

99-04 Mustangs… Ford produced “roughly” 975,000 cars American Muscle Pre-Painted parts for 99-04 Mustangs “0″. I guess there is no pre-painted part market for the 99-04 Mustang. I would bet most of them are all in junk yards by now or better yet scrap yards being crushed and recycled to build 05-10 Mustangs. Thanks for all the hype your marketing team should run an election or better yet grow mushrooms.

  • Greg

This is crap. I was all excited and fully expecting 99-04 parts.. but instead there are just a few 05-10 parts… What a buzz kill. You could have at least told us that ahead of time. ::thumbsdown::

  • Evan

did you guys really think that they would actually do something for the pre 05 stangs. they haven’t any good products on sale or even added any good ones for a long time for pre 05 stangs. i my self use to love american muscle but have stopped shopping here because they seem to favor the 05-10 owners.

  • Troy

Happy to see Pre-Painted parts, but I’m not going to get too hyped up considering the fact there’s no 99-04 parts yet…

  • Zyon

WOW! You expect them to be ready to ship pre-painted parts for every year they support at launch? The paint system they installed was extremely expensive so I can see how they would start with later model Mustangs. Also, I’m sure their marketing/research team focused on what product/year they sell the most so I’d say the ‘05 up models sell the most.

I own an ‘06 and I’m disappointed I’ll have to wait and see when they have the Louvers I want pre-painted. I called them and right now if it’s not listed there is no way to put the order in. So, I’ll wait a bit and if they don’t sell them I’ll just have my local guy paint them up for me.

  • Phil Heroux

Paint fades after a while. If you have a newer car it probably hasn’t faded a noticeable amount from the original colour it was out of the factory. If you have an older car the paint code on the inside of your door will no longer match the faded colour on your car. If I didn’t have an S197 I don’t think I would even consider using this pre-paint option unless I was absolutely positive the paint had not faded at all.

I think this is absolutely superb and I will most definitely be ordering some pre-painted parts over the winter. Good job guys.

  • Nadine Padgett

Wow! That sucks I was excited about prepainted parts but you don’t even carry it in my year.I hope you guys change that.

  • John

Are there going to be any painted body kits like Roush or Saleen.

  • YOU FAIL

well there “phil” my 00 stang has been in a garage since day one it has 20k on it and the paint looks like it did the day it rolled out of the show room so take your NEW FADED S197 and drive it off a cliff so you can get a new paint job to match your pre- painted parts CHECK THE NUMBER OF SN95 CARS ON THE ROAD VS. S197 and see who is looking to start modding there cars right now!

  • Thegoob

I’m sure eventually there will be parts for your trailer queen SN95, so you can sit in your garage and stare at them.

  • Yoko Nelson

A load from you does not yet arrive!!

    Too BAD!!

    Too late!!

    Hurry up!!

How does the order that I ordered in September turn out?

Can I get a tracking number for my order?

  • Jeff

First and foremost, thank you for your interest in pre-painted parts.

We understand your frustration regarding the limited availability of pre-painted parts and hope to fulfill all of your requests in the near future.

Our decision to target S197 ‘Stangs with the launch is the result of 3 very important factors:

    1) In order to ship parts the same day they are ordered, they must be pre-painted and on the shelf. This means pre-painting all 6 parts in all 19 Ford OEM colors so that we are sure to have it when you order. That means we actually have 114 new parts in our catalog.

    2) Paint fades over time. Sun exposure, regular maintenance and environmental contaminants are all key factors in the longevity of your paint. We are currently working with a local Mustang club to test various techniques to properly match our newly painted parts to 99-04 Mustangs. The down side is that we cannot release anything until we have solved this fundamental problem. Trust me, we’re working on it, however we are sad to say we have no ETA at this time.

    3) We didn’t want to delay the 05-09 parts while we were still researching 99-04 color matching as this would be unfair to S197 owners. Additionally, by getting the parts out now we can watch which colors sell best and quickly prioritize painting of the most popular colors. This will help our paint team be more efficient and get a wider range of parts painted over the long haul.

In the meantime, we would appreciate hearing from you as to exactly what parts you would like to see pre-painted. Chin spoilers? Quarter windows? Spoilers? We’re building a list for the next phase in pre-painted parts and would appreciate any feedback from you.

  • henry

I am soooo glad you guys have done this, Life is hard when you have a 05 Sonic Blue GT. now it just got easier. Thanks for the paint and great prices on it!

  • Eric L

i agree i was so pumped for the pre-painted parts, american muscle should give some love for the 99-04 mustangs

  • Warren

This is a great start. The prices on what you have available are fantastic! The only problem is that I have the opposite problem of many of the commenters in that I own a 2010. I was hoping that something would be available for them at the start. I guess I will just have to wait, hopefully not too long. When they are ready (Roush louvers and rear spoiler) I am ready to buy!

  • Dennis

Well put Jeff. Dont worry about the trash talkers. They are the ones that usually never buy anything from AM and if they do they expect you to hand them out for free. I have been purchasing from AM when it was still called mustangtuning. I am very pleased to see that you guys actually care about the little guys. I think the pre painted product line is a great idea especially for restorations and mods. I will be patient and see what awaits the 99-04 mustangs, im sure they be just perfect and sell like hot cakes.

As far as the 2010 mustangs go…..be patient as well. Your model just came out not too long ago. If you do some research, it takes time to develop a prestine product that will last you a while and wont hurt your pockets.

Keep doing your thang AM! The real customers will sit back and wait.

side note: Stop bitchin people, you sound like little kids.

    Peace and Love from IRAQISTAN!!!

  • Jeremy

For the prepainted parts i would like to see question, i would say larger parts like fascias and bumpers but most of all i would say is hoods, hoods, hoods. The hassle of finding a hood you lke and having it prepped and painted is def time and money. I would def be all over some popular aftermarket hoods offered prepainted in factory colors.

  • Dave G

I have been waiting to find these parts for my black ‘03 GT. I understand this is a complicated process and will wait for the perfect fit. I am sure it will be worth the wait

  • Dave G

not everyone leaves their car in the garage all day and night…. Some of us drive our cars and are willing to wait for the right pieces

  • http://MemberofMustangForums Tim

So guys did I win the $50? :)

    I have a 2007 so it’s all good!

  • http://MemberofMustangForums Tim

Oh yea. I’m gonna order the splitters with prize money.

  • http://n/a John S

Awsome!! i own a 03 GT Cennt Edition and its in storage now so I don’t mind wainting a little in am sure they are working on earlier generations. Way to go AM love the idea of passing the savings on to the customer!!

  • Warren

    Sorry Dennis,

I didn’t mean to sound like a whiner. I am willing and ready to wait, just was hopeful. I understand AM’s side and ya can’t have everything all at once. I think this is a great start with only more to come. I am sure when AM comes out with the painted parts, they will be great like everything else AM does.

  • Greg

If you are wanting ideas on what to be painted, I would suggest the Xenon Hood Scoop for the 99-04 Mustang.

  • aaron

as long as u sell painted hood scoops for the 99-04 models i will be happy

  • aaron

    100% agreed

  • Chris

Please tell me your going to make parts for the 99-04 mustangs as well. I’m not bitching i just really was looking forward to pimpin’ out my stang.

  • Mike E.

Thanks AM! I am a 09 Gt owner and I love your products. Your company has always done a great job with products and support. I will continue to shop with you guys! Happy painting.

  • Peter

Not gonna lie, I was really stoked for this release. However your reasoning is definatly sound and if I have to wait longer I suppose I will. This site has already replaced all the other sites I bought from before.
In regards to your question, my answer would be:
    Steeda Functional Race Wing (04)
    Xenon Quarter Window Louvers
And of course, the Mach 1 Chin Spoiler

Thanks, I will be checking religously for any updates.

  • Ryan E.

Seriously this is great, but you really need pre-painted 94-04 parts to, esp 03-04 cobra kits! The process is going to be expensive enough without havin to get paint work done. If you guys can come through here that will be AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Cody

    I just want a black one. :)

  • Joseph P.

I understand what AM is doing…. and I will tip my hat to them for wanting to have a superior product line. I have a 05 Stang and what I wanted to do to it took some time because what I wanted was not available. Then one day Am had exactely what I wanted. The wait was worth it. Sadly I also have a 97 Mustang GT and have ideas for it. So I will be waiting like the rest of you.

  • Tony T

also agree..american muscle NEEDS pre painted parts for the 99 to 04 Mustangs..most people have these anyways..cmon guys!!

  • Shane

Yeah there’s only 6 parts available right now but think about this, they’re prepainting them in all 19 oem colors. I’m sure 99-04 will soon be on the list, and looking at the list of their painting process I’m sure it’s worth the wait – I know I’ll be keeping my eyes glued to this site.

  • Peter

UGH!!! nooooo i waited all this time for this day, and you dont have 99-04 parts! what the heck?

  • Kike pardo

You have to be kidding me… 2005+ prepainted parts… I have an 04 GT and was expecting to see what you had prepainted for my car.

  • http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3142388 Bryan M.

LOVE IT!!!! I was hoping that CDC Chin Spoiler would be on there and it is!!!! Thanks AM!!

  • Sayad

Great to hear back from you Jeff. 99-04 is pretty popular still to this day and I am now relieved to hear that you are taking your time to get things right. After all, who wants a rushed product with poor quality. American Muscle has that reputation of providing quality parts to customers, and I’m thrilled to hear, that tradition of not cutting corners is being enforced.

As for suggestions for pre-painted parts, that I’m positive most of the community would love to have available:

-Can there be an option, for lets say if you carry an unpainted fiberglass hood(03-04 Cobra heat extractor please :-) ) To go through your exquisite painting process when being purchased?

-Pre-painted side-view mirror covers for the 99-04. That would certainly be a hot seller. I know quite a few people that would hop on that in a nanosecond, including myself.

-03-04 Cobra style rocker panels with the option to be painted, of course with only the palette for those years.

-Spoilers of course. 03-04 Cobra style spoilers are a hot item as well.

Those are a few that I believe are sought after the most in regards to the demands for styling with the New Edge Mustangs. I encourage others to list what else they believe is most demanded by the whole community, not just New Edge owners. American Muscle is stepping up the game in a huge way by offering this option of pre-painted parts. Help them out by letting them know what we want!

  • http://critly23@aol.com rob

yea most people definitely have the 99-04 models. much more popular and affordable. sales would have been so much better if they had 99-04 parts. hopefully soon. AM is definitely the best out there but disappointed on the hype for nothing. hopefully soon!!!

  • YOU FAIL

Hey Dennis, wont you shut your pie hole you have no idea how much money i have spent with AM this year but if your counting between me and my wife about 5k so keep you dick beeter shut!

  • UGOT8

I pull my car out when the time is right or some clown like yourself starts running his mouth about how fast his car is then i let him see the back of my stang “OHIO UGOT8″ then put her back in the garage till some other punk runs his mouth.

  • Wally H.

Was looking forward in seeing what prepainted item was in stock for my 99….but I guess that ain’t happening

  • jon olson

i am doing a project to an 04 gt , i would like to see front fascia, ( 03-04 cobra), quarter window scoops/ side panel scoops ( xenon, or not), perhaps if it does not infringe on any legal stuff the steeda 99-04 functional street wing painted. perhaps a variety of hoods that could be painted. look forward to seeing the selection you guys choose for the 99-04 crew, as im sure other model year owners are anticipating this as well.

    keep up the good work

  • Ceth Morrison

just want to join the petition….
    I need prepainted 99-04 parts!!!!!!!!!

  • Jeff

Right now we’re focusing on trim items like chin spoilers and hood scoops. Larger body kits are a possibility, but matching can be a problem when it comes to large items. Our first priority is to maintain the best possible quality. As things move forward, if we can paint it well and match it right, we’ll do just that.

  • Jeff

I will add this to our list of parts to look at when we expand our pre-painted catalog to include 99-04. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • isaac

this whole fight started about paint. just use liquid glass it keeps it from fadding

  • Jeff

Well put Sayad. Thank you. We truly appreciate all your feedback, good and bad.

  • Jeff

Hoods are a hard one. Blending the paint with the quarter panels can be tough. We are working on it though, and hope to develop a system that works for everyone.

    Thank you for your feedback.

  • Jeff

Thanks again for all the great feedback. We are working on a list for 2010 and 99-04 parts. As I said in my post above, we have no eta at this time, but we are working on it and will keep you posted. We realize that 99-04, and 2010, owners are some of our best customers and we need to offer parts for them too. As soon as we’re past our initial roll out, and work out some paint matching issues, we will have a better idea as to when 99-04 parts are coming.

Keep sending us your suggestions for pre-painted parts.

By the way, any thoughts on the video? We’re working on more vids on a range of topics: from tech, to hot products, to completely useless, but still funny.

  • Jim

The whole pre-painted parts idea is awesome. Not having to find someone reputable to paint the parts is a godsend. Some suggestions for pre-painted parts are the Xenon Hood Scoop and Xenon Rear Side Scoops for 2005-2009. They’re pretty high on my list of things to get so I would love to see them pre-painted. Thanks American Muscle for your fantastic service.

  • http://americanmuscle.com Jeff

DO you do 94-98 pre painted parts, because if so I’m looking for prepainted bumper for my 95 gt, I have a laser red 95 gt Im looking for a prepainted laser red cobra bumper, all of them are sold unpainted, and I cant afford to paint my whole car, and its a paint to have just the bumper taken some where to be painted. so if or where can i find me a oem 94-98 cobra style bumper painted

  • D

I’m impressed. Now I just need to save up for that chin spoiler. Keep it up with the great products!

  • Chris

Congrats guys! The products look great and the first step is behind you. If only 3min could show the effort and care AM puts into the products.

  • S.Ruizzo

I’m with Sayed all the way when it comes to prepainted side mirror covers for 99-04 mustangs. I’m surprised that no one out there even offers them anywhere. They would surely be one of the biggest sellers for AM. When American Muscle does decide to offer these, they’ll sell so many they might have trouble keeping up with demand. They might have to change their name to AMERICAN MUSCLE ON ROIDS.COM

    AMERICAN MUSCLE ALL THE WAY!!

  • Dennis

    Like I said, little kids.

One, you failed to post your name. In my eyes that makes you less of a man. Im wondering why your “wife” is still with you.

Second, this is a forum for Mustang car parts. Is it that hard to keep it clean?

Third, no body cares what $$ amount you have spent. There is always someone else who is going to spend a little more than you. It depends on the enthusiast.

Finally, take all that money that you’re spending on your car and get an education. It never hurts to learn a little more. You might actually learn how to spell and the use of proper grammer.

    Im done now.

    Peace, Love and chicken grease!

    One.

  • Jesse B.

Come on! i was all excited for the pre painted parts and there is nothing for the 99-04 models! Lets go American Muscle! Show some love to us! I need some black side scoops for my 04!

  • L. Lopes

wow why is it that the only pre painted parts are for 05 and up? the 99-04 have the best body styles (no offense to anyone) and most of the people here purchase parts for 99-04, shame on american muscle!

  • Sayad

The videos are informative as well as entertaining. Adds some great entertainment value and shows the the folks over at American Muscle are a fun loving crowd. I say go for it!

  • Phil Holland

    OK Dennis,

Please shut your dick beater! Oh Im sorry your parents should have named you… Thomas Edison,Nikola Tesla,Albert Einstein or even Stephen Hawking because you are a “real genius” I thank God every day for creating such a creature with unparalleled intellect.

  • Phil Holland

    Hello AM,

I am done bitching about not having any pre-painted 99-04 stang parts, your working on it and I get it. I have two 99-04 stangs. The first one is a 00 GT vert as with most other Mustangs that year it has no hood or side scoops and a aftermarket rear spoiler would be a nice touch. I think that would make most folks happy. In my opinion chin spoilers are black and should be left that way. My second stang is a 04 SVT Corbra Mystichrome vert and I know for a fact you wont be pre-painting parts for that car any time soon. That said with the new Z28 on the street I have no choice but to mod my virgin snake to keep the Obama mobile in my rear view mirror and as usual I will be buying all my power enhancements from AM. Thank you for your dedication to the preservation of the last True “American” Muscle Car!

  • GT Gettin Tickets!

Hey guys, com’on we are all into our stangs lets just wait and see what they’ve got coming for everybody before everyone starts gettin in an uproar. They are at least making an effort to make parts more affordable for all of us. Plus starting a paint system is not cheap by any means, ive got my own little mom and pop paint shop and it aint cheap just for what ive got, so give them a break. Im sure they have somthing in the works for everyone. Im a lucky one with an s197 stang but all my buddy’s have 01-04 stangs so chill out give em some time.

  • Da Grump Hisself

Don’t get your parts painted, they’ll just get scratched when I blow past you in my Camaro….

  • Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins

You couldn’t put a Chevy in your rear view mirror if you Rustang had a space shutter booster engine!

    Hahahahahahahahaha

  • Andrew

    Probably not….

  • Zora Arkus Duntov

You bought two??? Most people would have learned from their first mistake…

Make life easy for yourself and your wallet, just buy a Camaro, then you won’t need any power mods to stay in front.

    And WTF is Mystichrome??????

  • Phil Holland

WOW ZORA U SURE KNOW YOUR CARS, WTF IS A MYSTICHROME TRUST ME IF YOU HAD SEEN ONE ON THE STREET IT WOULD BE FROM BEHIND AND YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TELL WHAT COLOR THE CAR WAS THAT JUST RAPED YOUR LS1 TRASH THERE IS A REASON THEY CALL THE 03-04 COBRAS THE TERMINATOR. TAKE ABOUT FIVE MINUTES OF YOU TIME AND LOOK IT UP AND YOU WILL SEE YOU CAN HAVE 500HP AND 500TQ FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS WORTH OF WORK AND STILL ROOM TO MAKE MUCH MUCH MORE POWER!

  • Kyle

LOL….I can’t beleive you dont know what mystichrome is. i guess his precious chevy doesnt have any nice cars with rare colors. buddy of mine needed mystichrome paint to redo his terminator and ford actually came to the guys house to pick up the leftovers cuz they dont want it getting around… but like i said chevy owners arent familiar with rarity. SVT made top of the line vehicles, so you should really watch your mouth before your squinting at the rear bumper of one.

  • 03GT Vette Killer

I’m with everyone else on here. I want a prepainted 1995 style Cobra R hood for my 03 GT and the 2000 Cobra R front bumper!

  • Angie B.

I totally agree also…. where’s the love for the 99-04’s???

  • Davis

haha thank you for finally shutting up the spam… this convenience is DEFINITELY worth waiting a year or so at most…

  • Zora Arkus Duntov

    Yo Phillip-

    I know my cars, alright… Mustang GT 315HP, Camaro LS1 320HP. Isn’t 320 better than 315?? Oh, but the Camaro doesn’t have Mystichrome paint….

If you really want 500HP, just go to any Chevy dealer and order a Corvette Z06 with 505HP STANDARD. That’ll take about two minutes worth of work.

And who needs modifications when you can get a Corvette ZR1 with 638HP STANDARD?? That’s right, SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY-EIGHT.

And don’t forget the 2009 Chevy Trailblazer SS with 390HP in an SUV!

BTW, check your spelling before you post, the word is spelled “TERMINATED”. And it looks like your caps lock key is stuck, LMAO.

  • Zora Arkus Duntov

    Yo Kyle-

Unlike you, I’m more concerned about performance than paint. Have fun waxing your Mystichrome every weekend, maybe Stan, Kenny, and Cartman can help.

Refrigerator White and Primer Grey look just fine on my Chevy’s in the winner’s circle.

Why did Ford stop making SVT vehicles? They just weren’t very good, sorry dude.

“Rarity” to me is when a Ford beats a Chevy, that’s why I’m soooo unfamiliar with the term.

    Later, dude.

  • Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins

    Hahahahahahahaha! Zora, you’re the best!

Hey guys, I found a web site that sells used rocket engines, maybe you can bolt one on and try to beat a Chevy! It’s http://www.foundonroaddead

  • Rob Z

Got my painted CDC chin spoiler today. A very nice paint match & the fitment check looks good too. Excellent delivery time. Question: It’s not clear if there should have been 3M mounting tape with this part, or “pins” which are mentioned as well. Should I have gotten the 3M tape? Just need to know if I should buy it or request it from AM?

  • John

It would be sweet if the prepainted went back past 05′ but at least it is available for the recent years. I imagine it will only expand with time and demand for the products. Most importantly I’m glad to see AM getting some hot tail in the video besides the one on the ride. Keep the eye candy coming!!!!

  • Phil Holland

hey if you clowns would like to see 03-04 cobras raping corvettes vipers and hell street bikes for that matter go to you tube i owned a modded 02 ws6 ram-air trans-am hands down my o4 cobra would run it off the road so you chevy clowns keep running your dime a dozen broke ass mouthes!

    Yo Land Phil-

How convenient that you forgot to give the link for the video. Let’s make it legal, I’ll meet you at Atco or Maple Grove this weekend, you name it, bro.

  • John C. Holmes

Dude, the only way you’re getting “hot tail” is in a video LMAO!

  • Jeff

Unfortunately, 94-98 parts are farther down the road. Basically, matching new paint to a car that has been on the road for 15 years is a real challenge, no matter how well it has been taken car of. As we move forward with the program we may investigate alternative methods for delivering parts to 94-98 owners. We’ll keep you posted as more parts become available.

  • Jeff

I am very sorry for the mix up Rob. But, hey thanks for helping us figure out where there extra install kit we had sitting around was supposed to go. The chin spoilers come with 3M tape, plus a couple of pins that plug right into the stock holes. We’ve pulled your order information and the install kit is already packed and waiting for our UPS pick up. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I’ll be happy to help!

Here are the parts that I would suggest adding: (I have an 07 GT)

    CDC Aggressive Chin Spoiler
    Roush Rear Spoiler/Hood Scoop/Louvers

Add those and I will order them ASAP

  • Zora Arkus Duntov

No reply from Mr. Phil (oh nooooo), no surprise here. Guess it’s easier to run your mouth on a web forum than run your car on the track with everyone watching…

Im with John.. AM should offer pre-painted parts for years before 05

    preferebly some for a 99..

  • BOB

    Nice plates man..

    Not..

  • Ken

yep need painted parts for the 99-04

  • Angelo

Yes, we need painted parts for 99-04 mustangs please.

  • Johnny Harris

The 3-M tape sent with the pre-painted side vents must be old! This is not the first time that I have received the 3-M tape that has been bad.

I would also recommend that on the pre-painted items, that someone take the time to clean the paint off the back side. Now I am going to have to take the time to get more 3-M tape and Goof-off to clean the paint.

    Thanks very much for listening!

  • Bryan

Hello everyone. First off I want to thank AM for the continued improvement and quality given. I only buy my parts from AM and its been a year now since I’ve had my 07 mustang and I never have any complaints about AM. They keep getting better and now with these new pre-painted parts, theirs no competition. Theirs a lot of people complaining and whining about all this but you need to be patient. You can’t expect things to happen overnight. Although I can understand the frustration about expecting something and not being able to get it. For those of you who this applies too, just read what Jeff writes, they are working on it and just need time. It’s a new thing. Don’t worry, I’m positive AM won’t just forget of the 99-04’s.

And finally, the reason why I’m witting this, is my suggestion for some pre-painted parts for 05+. I am just dying to get the lower side scoops and quarter window scoops. Except I only want the Cervini’s brand lower side scoops and quarter window scoops. I don’t really like the scoops provided in the first list of pre-painted parts AM had to offer. If these Cervini’s came pre-painted I wouldn’t think twice!

Also, one last thing. Some people on here have turned their disappointment into anger towards others. People… remember we are all here for the same reason: MUSTANGS. We all love the same thing, are proud of it and shouldn’t be fighting with each other. Instead stand strong together to fight with the enemy. (Charger’s) hahaha enough said.

Thank you AM! Best regards, Bryan

  • Brian

Would love to see some 99-04 parts.

  • http://americanmuscle.com david

  • Alan

    i agree with ken.

  • mike

94-98 parts need to be included also.

  • http://www.americanmuscle.com/ AMStanger

Thanks for the feedback! We’re always happy to hear from customers. I’m sorry that you received tape that didn’t work, we’re sending some replacements out to you today. The new tape will work for you, and it would be great if you posted some pictures once your parts are installed.

  • Larry

No painted 2004 parts???? Come on guys, get with the program.

  • Garrett

Yes, I need a new side skirt for my 2000 mustang and would like to see a pre-painted one as a cheaper option for replacement

  • Alec

I agree with mike, there is a need for the 94-98 painted parts, if there was i would order ASAP

  • Jeff

Thank you again to everyone for sharing your thoughts and opinions about the parts we should carry.

As I mentioned above, we definitely plan to offer 99-04 parts, and will do so as soon as we can develop a reliable way for matching paint with cars that have see at least five years of wear on their paint. Since we cannot see your cars, and refuse to tarnish our solid reputation with questionable quality, we must continue to work on ways to properly match new paint to 99-04 Mustangs.

At the same time, we continue to improve efficiency in our paint booth production which means we will have more time in the schedule to increase the number of parts offered in the coming weeks or months.

Thank you all once again for your comments, and your enthusiasm for pre-painted parts.

  • David

    99-04 a must!

  • Kevin

Sounds good Jeff…lots of us who actually need the pre-painted parts are those of use who have had Mustangs longer which is in the 87-04 group. I think you’ll find your largest market of buyers from these owners.

  • Cory

i agree with everyone on 99-04, however i think they should sell prepainted stuff from 79-2010 since they have engine accessories and some exterior accessories for foxbodies and up

  • Mark Donohue

Cory, you have to be realistic, there isn’t much of a market for ‘79-’98 Mustang parts.

Most of these cars died years ago and are in junkyards, or were crushed and recycled as toilet parts.

    “Found On Road Dead”, remember?

    Mark

  • http://americanmuscle Jon

I would like to see full painted body kits for the 98 gt convertible

  • http://americanmuscle Jon

Mark not only is t he 79-98 mustang a very demanded breed but some people take what they can get what kind of toilet parts do you drive proud owner of a 98 gt convertible that is not ready for the junkyard yet!!!!

  • Brandenn

All of ya’ll bitch way to much,so they don’t have your painted part, i have an ‘03 and do you see me say “O My God American Muscle sucks blah blah blah, quit your bitching pull your panties out of your ass buy your parts, thank these people for doing this so we can have these O so wanted parts, now then that you have your foot in your mouth let the complaining go back to the chevy and dodge owners!!!! They are the people that need help with there hunk of junks.

Thanks American Muscle for these parts, can’t wait for some new one!

  • Brandenn

    Phil Holland
How about you hop of this man!! You sound like the coolest dude ever, i have never known someone to list off names to get a point across, are you the little shit up there that said you and your “wife” (gay lover) have spent 5 thousand dollars in a year, you sound stupid ok so you have drug money big whop, your an annoying little bitch tits that thinks he is better than everyone, and talks a big game on the computer, you are probably so sorry that you get beat by not only ricers but vespas to.
    -Brandenn

  • Derek

    I got a 2004 GT. This sucks.

  • http://Am Michael Albritton

yes there should be pre painted parts for the 99-04 group…i am trying to to biuld my car into a shelby cobra replica and need a new right fender and front bumber..

  • Jeff

We’re still working on 99-04 trim parts. We understand there is a huge demand and we truly hope to fulfill that demand. At the same time, we refuse to offer parts substandard parts that will not match the cars they are made for, so developing a system here is a bit of a problem.

As far as replacement fenders and bumpers, never say never, but I doubt you’ll see these larger body parts pre-painted any time soon. When you’re talking about large areas that are fitted to other large areas, like a fender to a hood and door, proper color matching becomes exponentially more difficult, where as mirror covers and chin spoilers do not present these challenges. I am sorry.

  • Richard

I would like a bumper for an 06 GT. Any chance you are going to offer prepainted replacement products like this too?

  • steve

I would love to see AM do a prepaint on the new front fender vent add ons and if you have a GT what is necessary to add these and re apply your GT badging after application?

  • david

need 04 gt parts painted it is a must!!!!…..would order is available and it would be a lot easier.

  • STEVEN

I think you guys should offer all the parts in pre painted colors. You can ask your customers for a paint code for painting the parts. We dont need these items to be shipped asap we can all wait a week or two for them too be shipped. It would beat the hastle of taking the parts to a half ass paint shop and getting ripped off for some cheap paint job. I shopped everywhere for pre painted 99-04 parts and found 0 websites. This would be a very big hit and bring in alot of customers. You can get paint shops to scan ur car with a handheld scanner and the paint matches up perfectly.

    Thanks hope you see this.

    Steve

If you do this i can send you the paint code for some parts and i can install them on my zinc yellow mustang and post the pics.

  • Sean

How come no pre-painted parts for 99-04 mustangs????????????????????????????????????
I just cannot believe this unfairness

  • Luis

Spoken like a true champ Bryan! We need to stick together…(although i seem to get more hate from camaros and civics rather than chargers)…feel free to flash ur lights at fellow mustangs in appreciation people! Don’t hate, appreciate!

  • Andrew Davis

Regarding the requests for older pre-painted parts. How about if I not only supply the parts, but also an original painted part as a color sample.
I have a pair of Bullitt Ford factory side scoops that I need to get painted the stock 2003 Zinc yellow color.
And I have already had a set ruined by a ford dealer here in Los Angeles. So I am hesitant to try a different shop to paint another new set. I saw a set of your vents on a clients Mustang and the paint quality was better than the factory paint job.
Would you consider doing painting customer parts. Time is not a factor.

  • Freaky Phil

At least give me some basic black trim parts for my “03 and “04 GT’s. Hood scoop, side scoops, rear spoiler and bumpers would be a great start! How about offering them in chrome look too?

  • Dave

When will we see pre-painted parts for 2011 Mustangs? Red Candy Metallic is a very popular color.

  • Kevin

I think they stopped responding to this blog…but if they’re still out there I’m just wondering how the pre-painted parts are coming along for the 99-04 stangs! Its been a little over a year now since you guys first released this!

  • Greg

    Needs Lava Red added..

So you want to actually make your Mustang look
different than the other 10 million on the road huh. It’s not so easy to set
your Mustang apart from many of the others out there but it can be done. I love
the Ford Mustang almost regardless of the various body styles over the years
and all of them can of course be improved upon. However there are thousands
Ford Mustangs everywhere and if you think that hot little lady that your to shy
to talk to hasn’t seen a Mustang before, then your wrong.
