Hot or Not? 2015 Mustang Concept Rendering!

Hot or Not? 2015 Mustang Concept Rendering!
The 2015 Mustang reveal is getting closer and there’s been a lot of hype from the Mustang community about the new model! J. Mays, Ford’s Creative Chief Officer, previously said the new gen model will be less retro and way more modern as to move the Mustang name forward. That has people creating their own renderings of what they think it will look like.

What we do know about the 2015 Mustang so far? Well, it will be smaller, lighter, feature independent rear suspension, and will be offered globally. An Ecoboost has been everything but confirmed.

Check out the Mustang concept that Popular Hot Rodding magazine drew up! These renderings are what they believe the new Mustang model will look like. In my opinion, the red drawing looks more like a squished Bugatti than a Ford Mustang, and definitely very futuristic. Also, the silver concept has more of a Mustang feel with the front and rear end and I can dig it. Definitely cool drawings and concepts, but is this where the new Mustang could be headed?

  • Jeffrey E. Davis

Out has possibilities, but why Ford is trying to recreate a ’59 impala look with the fins on the rear quarter panels??? And can we please stop designing such a high beltline on the body where the bottom of the side windows are at the chin of the driver? It looks like the Camaro and most of the Chrysler products: CHUNKY AND HARD TO SEE OUT OF!!! I’m okay with the rest of three design….oh, and…..letup the V-8s coming please!

  • 99Stang

The lower air dam looks like its from the Camaro’s but over all body lines gives me the feel of the BMW Z4

  • Castellanosa210

Actually the camero was a copy of the mustang, look for chip roose talkin about the mustang an camero an he tells u how the design of the camero was copied from the mustang. The mustang is the longest running muscle car around.

I hate it  drop the  Italian stallion  thats for Ferrari  an Ferrari sucks  they been beat buy Ford in the  early  60′s throw out the 60′s  by  Ford  till about when Lamborghini is even better an thats a real   Italian  if you make an stang bring the foxy body back that an the 1970 boss are the only two body’s an i like the 2001 to 2003 model was good  i see  going out to a foreign country like Dodge they suck just as much  as Chevy  shame on you Ford  for that i’l never buy another Ford  as long as i live

    • Dhg1078

I feel dumber for reading this.
      1. ferrari does not suck. They are a very high end super car company that makes good cars
      2. Yes ford made a Ford GT40 that gave ferrari a run for its money and even beat ferrari for a few years but that doesn’t mean ferrari sucks.
      3. I have no idea what you were trying to say about lamborghini
      4. its a 99-04 body style not 01-03
      5. I have no idea where you were going with the foreign country thing

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i respect yours. just please for the love of god learn some grammar.

the red one is the concept for the Interceptor for the new Mad Max film, just recolored in red.

Here’s my take. When Ford introduced the 1999 – 2004 model, they called it the New Edge style. But all they did was take a curvy, smooth car and give it aggressive, sharp lines. They took the car and only tweaked the design. However I do not like the 1994-1998 model at all, the new edge is awesome. I drive an 00′ GT myself and it is quite a fun car to drive. Fun is the goal in a V8 muscle car, right?

Their idea to make the 2005 model look more like the old vehicle was the best idea ever. But it wasn’t vulgar enough, it wasn’t aggressive enough. All new body shape, which looked GREAT. But it didn’t have the sharp edges, the angry lines. It had many of the same lines, in fact, but it looked like they tried to make them more smooth and wavy. Their only mistake was not making the car aggressive enough.

Now, with the 2011-2012, they fixed this problem. The current model looks great, and they did an excellent job of retaining most of the previous year’s shape and styling. I am pleased with the current model, and I have a friend who drives the 5.0L, let me just say. It’s breath taking. But I would honestly rather spend $20,000 on my current 2000 Mustang GT by throwing a procharger on it, new rims and wheels, a better CAI (I have a generic CAI installed, that I purchased from AM, but I would like a shaker hood scoop + a CAI with the inlet inside the engine bay, and many other goodies.

Final judgement: I like the last 3 models, but this new concept looks too fancy, to technological. We drive american muscle cars because we like big, angry, growling engines… fat rear tires… an exhaust note that would scare the Sasquatch. We like masculine cars with a masculine look.

Ford…. Please don’t make the mustang look girly again =(

    • A.Noid

I have a 2001, and I love it. I switched out the GT hood for the Cobra hood, and it looks more modern than the 05′s. I get compliments on it all the time still, even though it’s 12 years old. I hate the 05-09′s as they are too boxy, and too retro. The Mustang should be a statement of what Ford can do to make a world class world beating car. Retro has been done to death. Get rid of it. Show the world you can make a car that can beat the German cars and Japanese to death in EVERY category, not just raw power.

  • Coachjimh

IT LOOKS LIKE A POS CAMARO!!! The S197 body was the closest thing to the original look … why not make a variation on that? If they keep changing it eventually it will look like all the rest & THAT’S when I will stop buying them!

  • Taz 425

    bring back the foxbodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Jeffcox0890

I bought a mustang for the aggressive muscle look. If i wanted some sports looking car i would of bought something else. i dont wanna drive around looking fancy, i want to drive in a mean machine. Dont make it look like foreign sports car, make it american muscle please

  • Blake

Agreed with all who feel it looks like a chevy, this us bull. We should never forget the classics and that’s all that we are doing in society is forgetting the past. The 1967-69 to this day still is my favorit year of mustang.

  • Broncnut

Yeah, I can see a hint of Camaro. But the Stang was here FIRST …..remember folks? The Maro is reminiscent of our beloved Stallion, geez get it right, so are the new Mopar pretties.
I’d own ‘er n take sidewaz any day, fox body my azzzzzz!Maybe you’d rather have the ’74-’83 back?

  • Saleen Owner

I agree with the original author’s comments about the red drawing looking like a Bugatti and not what we all want for a Mustang.  The silver pic is definitely more along those lines, and nice strong tough looking.  Like one of the other commentors wrote, we want that in a Hot Rod Mustang.  We aren’t looking for sleek sexy Italian in a Mustang.  Ford, please keep it similar to the winning design you have now, just a little more modern like the silver pic.
The middle outline sketche of the front end looks awful … almost like an Acura!  Please don’t make it look like that.  Again, keep it traditional like some of the other drawings, bold and strong.  That’s what will win and differentiate it from Camaro.

  • Dr Jim

Don’t make it look too much like the Camaro!!!   Especially in the front.

  • Damondx1160

ight ford all in all what everyone here is saying we ike the modern look of mucsle yet we need some old brought back too and we are NOT CHEVY we are ford the first here and will always be king the mustang will always beet the camaro yet we dont need look like them we need to show off our own style  the agressive mean look that mustang has always had   so please just do what we all want and keep the mustang muscle add some leds to give off a line in the headlight kinda like what audi did with the r8 or something till we come up with the ultimate muscle car again like we always had

  • Sblack442

if u think this HOT MUSTANG is not hot then u must b insane and embarassed of your vehicle company

  • Torched GT

I agree with 91stang! Looks to much like that pos camaro!

  • Black09GT

Why is it when a new rendering comes out the first thing people say is “It looks too much like a camaro!”? That doesn’t look like a Camaro.. I just hope they don’t go back to a New Edge like design, those were awful. I wish they had produced the current “redesign” for a few more years before making another change to the 2013 which looks terrible.. A Shelby front end on the regular Stang? No thanks, if I want a Shelby I’ll buy a Shelby. Plus the stupid looking tail lights on the 2013 look like something you would find on a cheesy teenagers riced out Honda. The Mustang is going down hill in the looks department.. thank god they keep throwing horsepower in it.

  • Gmtaylor14

I like where they’re going with this…..although it does look similiar to the camaro…..coming from an engineer, the design would look better if it had a wide body…kind of like the mustang on the cover of 5.0. I believe it was the galpin/SPX wide body design.

  • Gearhead152

I expect it will look more like the red rendering because Ford is going to be revamping (slowly; we know how ford management moves anymore) their whole line to have the EVOS concept styling ques. Hopefully they can work it in better than the red rendering. I like the silver concept but they need to bring the front of the nose up, a little to much slope. But I think ford is thinking a much more radical change in styling similar to the impact of the change between the foxbody and the SN95.

  • Zakaria

    It’s awsome,I like it.

  • Focus-ed

This design has the potential to be beautiful and everything a future Mustang owner want in a car.  For the people who prefer the older Mustang designs they have the option of buying the older Mustangs.  But while some of us are looking back like some guy in a John Cougar Mellencamp song, some of us are ready for a true 21st century Mustang.  I look forward to seeing a Mustang with the most modern combination of technology, economy, performance, safety, practicality and design.  I can understand the fears of some people.  I look at what has happened and is happening to the car market and scratch my head wondering if there will ever be another car that I will lust after.  While most cars might look great and perform fantastic, their equipment content don’t offer a manual transmission or they cost so much that it’s pointless to even look at them.  This car has potential.  And maybe it’s just me but I have yet to see a fastback Camaro so I really don’t understand how this car could look like that one.

I haven’t owned a Mustang since I sold my 1987 GT back in 1994.  Almost two decades ago.  I lost interest in the car when Ford refused to make the investment to improve its design.  The 1995 car looked OK.  But when I test drove one I thought it was kind of cheap and its redesigned successor was no better.  The 2005 model was a huge improvement.  But that car was/is way too big.  I’m looking forward to seeing this one.  I just might get a silver 2016 Mustang Boss to go along with my silver 2012 Focus SE (the only Focus that came with a manual transmission).

    Just like camaro….. weak

  • Escape777
  • Drrefgrtfft

Lol why can’t they figure out all they have to do is make the car wider lower logger and add side air intakes like the lambos and keep it around 30k they will sell out

  • Julio Quinto

Totally agree with everyone else that it looks way to much like a camaro. Don’t make a mistake ford that’ll cost alot of ford fans to not buy this car.

  • stang_rocks

It looks more like a crossover between camaro and new scion fr-s sports car launched in 2012…..

  • Txt8888

I like the RED version.  But need to redo the front headlight

The design is hot. The way its body was designed made it look like a new model of the Camaro. But it’s good it still has the sharp edges that give it a kind of swagger distinct from the Camaro. And because this is a muscle, it is equipped with a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp.

These awesome sketches make me feel even more thrilled to see this new model Mustang! It looks like they’re going to make this edgier, more modern – different from the previous, classic-looking Mustangs. Just like what Chevy did to their new edition Camaros. But the bottom line is, this car is definitely hot!
