Check out what makes this plasti-dipped and bagged 2011 Mustang GT such an awesome car. Worthy of taking home Vaughn Gittin’s Best in Show Award at the 2013 AmericanMuscle Car Show as well as being featured in the 2014 AM Calendar shoot, Rob and his unique, modern GT have already moved on to bigger and better things.
Some people fancy a mean, intimidating ride capable of bringing home a trunk full of shiny trophies on any given weekend. Others drive around with the paint peeling off their front bumper–not a care in the world–so long as when they stomp the gas pedal their Mustang stands tall on its hind legs, blasting down the track in less time than it takes to read this sentence. But it’s when you have the right combination of “show” and “go” that you’ve really achieved something truly admirable. Ah yes, the best of both worlds. It’s the pursuit of that righteous combination that has inspired this special 2011 Mustang GT–a car that has already earned one of the top badges of honor in both worlds.
This 2011 GT’s Mods Include:
- Blue plasti-dip
- Just installed: Intercooled Centrifugal Supercharger
Vaughn Gittin Gives His Seal of Approval
At the 2013 AmericanMuscle Car Show, Rob found himself receiving a top award from AM’s special guest, the infamous drifting champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. This wasn’t just a casual trophy hand-off and handshake by a big name; Rob’s GT was personally selected from a pool of more than 1,000 Mustangs as Vaughn Gittin’s personal show favorite–a true honor indeed. Rob may have been flattered by Vaughn’s selection, but he wasn’t done building his GT quite yet. Despite the 400+ horsepower his Mustang was given at birth, with as much hand-crafted style as his GT had, it was time to really back it up by putting down some serious rear wheel horsepower.
A Supercharged Street & Strip Menace
Don’t let this car’s smooth looks fool you, it’s no slouch. Since the car show, Rob has set out on a quest to back up his Mustang’s award winning looks with the power of a drag strip beast. And what better way to do that than installing a centri blower? After installing the blower and huge front mount intercooler, Rob’s GT is now pushing 600rwhp using an undisclosed amount of boost. This is one Mustang sure to be seen blowing the doors off Camaros, from the street to the strip and back again.
The 2014 AmericanMuscle Calendar Shoot
We invited both Rob and his car back to AM headquarters to take part in the much anticipated 2014 Calendar shoot and behind the scenes action. Since the theme of the day was beautiful women and gorgeous cars, Rob’s GT fit right in among the other high-powered cars of the day. When the calendar drops, keep an eye out for a blonde, a bikini and a beach-bound blue GT.
Stay tuned for a resurgence of this one-off GT as Rob stacks trophies and continues working on his custom Coyote build.
