Everyone loves a good car show. We lay out the best Mustang events around the country as well as highlight what events we are hosting. Featured are our annual events like Mustang Mayhem and the AmericanMuscle Car Show--the largest Mustang only car show in the world!
The SEMA Show is like no other car show on the planet. Though supposedly just for those working in the industry, enthusiasts have little challenge landing credentials to the four-day Vegas event. For 2009, the show resurfaced from a gloomy 2008 with a slew of Mustangs front and center as the leader for hot new products and crazy high-budget customs.
This year I joined the team from AmericanMuscle.com to head west to Sin City for a look at the latest Mustang mods to hit the market. From matte black super stealths, to ready to race and in-your-face road masters, clearly Mustangs are the perfect choice to make virtually any show, street, or track performer.
Here are just a few of our favorites:
The Mustang Corral was invite only, and very impressive.
We pride ourselves on the fact that many of our employees are Mustang enthusiasts, just like you. Looking around the parking lot, we’ve got more Ponies than a Texas rodeo. Many AmericanMuscle staffers spend their weekends at the track or local car shows, or in the garage installing their latest purchase, because working here does have its benefits.
Two AmericanMuscle employees that share our taste in performance are Karen Baum and Dave Kaeck. Between the two of them, they have owned a total of 15 Mustangs. These customer service reps are just a couple of AmericanMuscle’s on-the-phone Mustang experts. They’re also drag racers who recently took their AM-prepped ‘Stangs to a filming of SPEED TV’s ultra-popular Pass Time game show at Maryland International Raceway.
Filmed on location at many of America’s favorite grass roots drag strips, Pass Time challenges two contestants to “guess the time, win the cash – it’s that easy,” according to show host Brett Wagner. Playing against famed Texas-based racecar chassis builder Ken “The House” Herring, contestants attempt to predict the 1/4-mile drag times of 10 random cars that pull up to the line in front of them. After each run the player with the closest time wins, and the player winning the most money at the end takes the entire $2,000 pot.
Time is closing fast and Silvermustangs.com’s Silver In The Hills 2: Freedom Cruise will be here before you know it. Silvermustangs has a great weekend of fun and Mustangs planned to entice you out there! This year’s SITH is taking place May 16th-17th and is benefiting the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation (VFW) and all makes, models, and paint colors are invited to attend!
The time is now, so start planning if you want to attend the weekend of fun. Also, American Muscle donated nearly $500 worth of goodies to be raffled off at Freedom Cruise, so that is even more incentive to attend!
AmericanMuscle strikes again helping to make Mustang Week 2008 a huge success as both a Silver Level Sponsor, and a sponsor of the Bad Mustangs Club’s contingent for the week. In addition to our sponsorship, we also sent down a set of 1994-2004 Black Bullitt Wheels that were used in the charity raffle.
Mustang Week itself was a huge success with a turnout of over 550 Mustangs in attendance! The Bad Mustangs Club even won the club participation award for the second year in a row with 66 members present and accounted for throughout the week! With events like the massive car show, heads up drag racing at Darlington Dragway, and Steve Saleen himself unveiling his all new Race Craft Car, it is safe bet that Mustang Week will be repeating itself once again in 2009!
$4230.36 Donated To Homes For Our Troops At AmericanMuscle’s Annual Charity Picnic
On Saturday July 12th, 2008, AmericanMuscle held its annual company picnic and charity fund raiser. Once again, this year’s charity foundation was Homes For Our Troops which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping those people that give selflessly to their country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries.
This organization is committed to assisting those who have returned from their service to our country severely injured, and their immediate families, by raising donations of money, building materials, and professional labor to build a new home or adapt an existing home for handicapped accessibility.
Sales Donation (% Of Sales During The Event) – $3615.36
Additional Company Donation – $500.00
Phone Donations – $ 115.00
Grand Total – $ 4230.36
The Obligatory Big Check Picture
In addition to our annual charity fundraiser, this event was also our annual company picnic! A variety of fun activities, massive food consumption of previously unthinkable proportions, and shenanigans pursued including “American Gladiator” style jousting, expert mechanical bull riding, dunk tank dunking of bosses, horseshoeing, a limbo contest how low can you go?, and of course the crème de la crème of picnic activities…the office employee versus warehouse employee TUG OF WAR!
So check out the pictures of the AmericanMuscle crew cutting loose below, and keep an eye out for next year’s fundraiser picnic!
