Do you need something to do on your weekends? Do you need to spend more time talking Mustangs with fellow enthusiasts? Or, do you just feel the need to see if you can add a few more trophies to your collection? Friend, you’re in luck! We’ve compiled a list of the top 10 Mustang events of 2010, so you can find a place to mingle with other Mustang owners, test your track time, or show off your ‘Stang.

Number 10. 29th Annual Mustangs & All Ford Show in Grand Rapids, MI. — June 12th, hosted by the West Michigan Mustang Club. The show is open to any Ford-powered vehicle, and features awards for the top 20 Fords.

Number 9. 29th Annual Chester County Car Show in Kimberton, Pa. – May 30th, hosted by the Valley Forge Mustang club in Kimberton, PA. The show will feature People’s Choice awards for the top 3 Mustangs in each class, plus a President’s Choice award.

Number 8. 31st Annual Mustang & Ford Auto Show & Swap Meet in West Des Moines, IA. — June 6th, hosted by the Mustang Club of Central Iowa. Go for the Mustangs and the 38 popular vote classes, stay for the swap meet (private sales and commercial vendors) and the for-sale corral. Continue reading ‘Top 10 Mustang Events of 2010′

What a weekend for AmericanMuscle and Mustang aficionados in the Philadelphia metro area! The NMRA brought its third race weekend of the season to Atco Raceway, in southern New Jersey, and the weather could not have been more perfect: sunny, mid-70’s, and an SPF-40 kind of day (the sunburned bodies in the office on Monday were too numerous to mention). It was a Mustang lover’s dream.

AM’s two sponsored NMRA drivers, Tim Matherly and Bart Tobener, arrived from Georgia ready to tear up the ¼ mile track with the best drivers in their respective classes. Tim’s 2010 modular Mustang runs in the Real Street class, and Bart’s Fox Body notchback Mustang has been eating up strips in the EFI Renegade class. In addition to Tim and Bart, AmericanMuscle had two of our own, Brick Spurio and Karen Baum, running in the True Street brackets.

I’d like to take a moment to step away from my  usual subject matter and talk about something very near and dear to my heart… Breasts. Now, they’re near and dear to my heart because I have a pair, and because I don’t think the  female form would be complete without them. Since this is a blog with a largely male audience, there’s a pretty good chance that you’re also fond of breasts, though probably for different reasons, which we won’t be exploring today.

Are Breasts an Endangered Species?

So why are we talking about breasts, if we won’t be showing you any, and if we won’t be talking about why you love them? Simply put, they’re being threatened. Breast cancer is sweeping not just the nation, but the world. It is endangering the busts of women everywhere, and it must be stopped. This is a cause that Ford itself can get behind.

You’re probably wondering why you should care, and how you could possibly help. It’s no secret that the automotive world is dominated by men. We forget sometimes that all of those men are firmly connected to women. No matter who you are, you have a mother. There’s a good chance that you also have a sister, or a girlfriend or wife, or a niece, or an aunt, or a friend who is a woman. The unfortunate, frightening fact is that any of them might have to do battle with breast cancer in their lifetimes. If that’s not an argument that moves you, consider that 1 out of every 100 cases of breast cancer is diagnosed in a man. While this cancer prefers women, it will still attack men.
