Anyone looking for a new car movie to go see will be in for a pleasant surprise. Dreamworks, Ford and EA are producing Need for Speed, a spin off the popular Electronic Arts video game series. Rumors and a wide range of speculation have been flowing through the Mustang community these days, mostly centered around what the 2015 Mustang redesign has in store. Now, it looks like the design and motor lineup might not be the only thing Ford is changing come 2015/2016–The GT500 as we know it is rumored to be called the “SVT Cobra” while Ford plans to produce the GT350 in-house alongside the rebirth of the Mach 1. Yeah, those are some strong words; let’s hope the source reporting this from inside Ford wasn’t kidding around (who wouldn’t want to see a new Mach 1?).
Details about the 2015 Mustang and its redesign have been leaking out of Dearborn steadily over the past few weeks, leaving small clues and much to be desired about what is to come. This video now gives us the first real look at a fully functioning and driving 2015 Mustang. Is it a V6 or a V8? Hard to tell, but those big, beefy brakes in the front are definitely something to gander at.
What turned out to be a fun and eventful day here at AmericanMuscle culminated with the 2012 Shelby Super Snake taking down the day’s top horsepower award. With six very different cars all putting down huge numbers, it still ended up being a close match with the Shelby winning it by only 16rwhp.
