And, the June Ride of the Month Winners Are…

Note: Starting this month, you can check out all our awesome Ride of the Month winners in one post!

Grand Prize Winner: Marty Brown’s yellow 2005 GT. Here are the details of Marty’s awesome ‘Stang.

Year: 2005

Model: GT

Color: Yellow

Wheel style & size: Deep-dish Bullitt 18X10′s

Other Mods: Whipple 500 hp supercharger, courtesy of Cobra Motor Sports, KR500 exhaust system, Willwood rotors & 6 piston caliper brakes.

Marty’s Comments:I started with what seemed to be a rather plain looking Mustang GT that I purchased from a Corvette dealer in Edmonton. The car only had 2,300km on it and to this day it still has under 5,000km. The transformation began approximately 3 years ago with custom-painted Eleanor racing strips, as vinyl did not cut it for me. The rear, side, and rear window louvers followed next and added a cool look. The 350hp stock engine with a cold air intake grew to be insufficient for me and had no choice but to go play with the big boys. I have yet to have the car dyno’d, but have been advised that I have at least 500hp at the flywheel and approximately 450 rear wheel. I have yet to install the smaller pulley for my supercharger, that should take the hp up to 550. The finishing touch to the extreme power I now have was the deep-dish Bullitt rims & tires that get so much attention at Mustang rallies. The only thing I was lacking in the end was brakes. Willwood 6 piston calipers and rotors were installed by Cobra Motor Sports to help me stop a little more efficiently. I hope you like my ride, as it sincerely turns heads every time I am out driving in sunny Alberta, Canada.

Marty’s GT’s style sets it apart from the herd, so it can’t help but turn heads. Between the supercharger, the custom stripes and louvers, and the upgraded brakes, this is a Mustang that anybody would be proud to own (and many of us wish we did). There is one area that Marty hasn’t customized, though–his interior. He loves the black leather and black dash, and doesn’t see any room for improvement. As the old saying goes, if it’s not broken, why fix it?

Generational Winners

1999-2004 Winner

Andrew Diller’s black GT is sleek, shiny, and also very fast. As Andrew says, “I have owned this car for a year and a half and am in love with it!  The car features only 25,000 miles. The car makes 400rwhp/391 RWTQ with a safe tune on 10lbs of boost. It has been taken to the drag strip once, where it ran 12.06 at 116.7 MPH with a 1.69 60′ on 17″ MT ET Street Tires.  I enjoy attending shows with the car as well as cruising.  I have yet to win any trophies at shows but know it will be soon hopefully.” Andrew’s mod list is extensive and includes everything from 373 gears to upgraded Cobra brakes to some serious suspension work, so we’re confident there are several trophies in his future.

1994-1998 Winner

Chuck’s white 1996 GT has been modified to reflect his personal style, and his love of Mustangs in general. In Chuck’s words, “The love of the Mustang… I think that we can all agree that if you’re reading this that you have a huge love of the little car that has brought families and friends together for almost 50 years now… I realized this when I was in high school my freshman year and I was hooked. I’ve always loved the mustang for what it was and in the summer of ’06 I was able to buy a 50,000 mile creampuff GT. The car has been by my side ever since, and the project continues on as the years go by. When I joined the Military 2 years ago the car sat dormant for a short period of time which allowed me to save up some funds to spend on her. The car has come along way from the day that I picked her up and is nearing perfection with a Kenne Bell blower and built bottom end on the way.

1979-1993 winner

Dave Shantz stripped his 1988 Cobra down and re-built it from the ground up. Along the way, he included performance mods like a 347 stroker, B303 cam, Edelbrock Performer heads and intake, 30 lb fuel injectors, a BBK cold air kit, and a 3 core aluminum radiator. He’s also added underdrive pulleys, a 70mm throttle body, 373 gears, and has performed a 5 bolt 4 wheel disc brake conversion. The most noticeable modification, though, is the custom-painted ghost cobra that’s poised to strike on his hood.

I love the 96-98 yr stangs. I currently own a 97 crystal white cobra. The white 96 gt that won, looks amazing. I was wondering what type and size of rims are those along with the tire sizes?

    Thanks, Barry
