Steve Saleen is back to designing cars under the name “Saleen” once again. Now he has something special up his sleeve for his 2014 release of the newly redesigned 351 Mustang.
The new 351 Saleen Mustang is not going to be a slouch, either. Having regained his iconic “Saleen” name back from MJ Acquisitions, Steve Saleen is back to his old ways – designing street legal monsters for us to drool over. Said to be utilizing a 5.0 Coyote power-plant with a Saleen 296 supercharger, the newest Mustang from Mr. Saleen will be packing 700 hp and 655 ft-lb of torque. That mammoth amount of power will place the new 351 right above the 2013 Shelby GT500.
Other goodies include a six speed manual transmission with 3.73 gears, 15 inch brake rotors, a complete S4 suspension, and a beefed up rear. A big ol’ “SALEEN” sticker will be draped across the front windshield and the red ram air intake that has come to symbolize a Saleen will also be used.
One thing is for certain; if their goal was to produce the most powerful production Mustang on the market, they are, at the least, headed in the right direction.
What do you think? Will you consider purchasing a new 2014 Saleen 351 when they hit the streets?
